Italy was the filming location for many films such as " The Talented Mr. Ripley "'s Anthony Minghella with Matt Damon andJude Law . In particular, Rome was home to many masterpieces of cinema history: " Roman Holiday "by William Wyler with Gregory Peck   and Audrey Hepburn , " La Dolce Vita " by Federico Fellini ,with the famous scene where Anita Ekberg and Marcello Mastroianni are found in the basin of the Trevi Fountain . More recently the movie " The Tourist " with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie , was filmed in Venice.

Passport / Visa / Formalities

French nationals must be in possession of an identity document (ID card or passport at the national exclusion of any other document) valid. Minors, even when accompanied and whatever their age, must have an identity document . Minors, unaccompanied by their parents and hold a single national identity card, must have permission to leave the country . All formalities and advice to spend his retirement in Italy . 

Transport

By plane
The plane is the way the fastest but also the most expensive to travel to Italy. Many cities have airports: Rome , Venice , Florence , Milan , Naples , Pisa, Palermo ...

Italian airline Alitalia has daily flights from Paris , Lyon , Marseille , Nice , Toulouse , Montpellier ,Nantes , Bordeaux and Clermont-Ferrand .

And if you prefer to fly French, of course you can wear your choice of  Air France . You can also opt for low-cost airlines Easy Jet and Ryanair (caution from Beauvais, 80km north of Paris ).

The price of a ride Paris- Rome between 100 and 1200 euros for Air France and Alitalia airlines and between 40 and 250 euros for low cost airlines.

By train
The train can be interesting if you want to go toTurin or Milan because they are TGV lines. 

Allow at least 11:30 ride to Paris-Rome (between 120 and 270 euros), 7h ride to Paris- Milan (60 to 175 euros) and 5 hours of journey to Paris-Turin (80 to 200 euros).

Although longer, this approach is less expensive than flying. For an even lower cost and save time,traveling at night . In addition to leaving and arriving in the city center, buying a train ticket is very easy since they are sold by the  SNCF and its subsidiary Artesia .

Bus
If you want to take the bus company  Eurolines offers routes from all major cities of France to the whole of Italy. Count 197 euros roundtrip drive from Paris to Rome, 117 euros for a round trip Paris-Turin ...

Drive
Depending on your source, you will take either the Frejus tunnel , or the Mont Blanc tunnel to enter Italian territory. The Italian motorway network is well developed but variable quality across regions.The main axis runs from Milan to Naples (A1).

The  autobahn , understand highways are priced. One of the means of payment is the ViaCard . This card in the amount of 25, 50 or 75 euros is charged for the amount of each journey made. You can buy it before you go to the French Federation of Automobile Clubs (in Paris). In Italy, it is on sale in tolls, Punto Blu, the Autogrill and tobacconists. You can also adjust your route with your credit card (Visa and MasterCard ).

The many service stations along motorways are almost always open and distribute gasoline (benzina), unleaded petrol (benzina senza piombo) and diesel (gasolio) without. Most accept credit cards.

Recall regulations
The speed limit is 50 km / h in urban areas, 110 km / h on main roads and 130 km / h on motorways.You'll of course bring your driving license and vehicle documents. Also be sure to condition your lights under penalty of having a fine from the local police.

Airports

• Bologna : the airport "Guglielmo Marconi" is 6 km from the city center. You can reach the city center by shuttle Aerobus leaving the airport every 12 minutes; see the schedule . A ride will cost 6 euros.

• Venice : Airport "Marco Polo" is located 12 km by road and 10 km by water from Venice . To reach Venice from the airport, you have several options. You can take the boat company Alilaguna , which arrived in about an hour. You can also opt for the bus No.5 company ACTV , or a bus from the company ATVO which will bring you to Piazzale Roma in Venice in 30 minutes. Finally, you can indulge in a taxi, rental car or boat; they are more expensive but faster.
